Italian-French flair on the Neckar
The Umbrian-Provençal market attracts over 100,000 visitors to the city on the Neckar every year. Over the course of five days, all kinds of handicrafts, regional products and typical delicacies from the two partner cities of Aix-en-Provence (Provence, France) and Perugia (Umbria, Italy) can be admired, tasted and purchased at lively stands. Of course, local products from Tübingen also find their place at the market.
The market area extends mainly around the old town between the Holzmarkt, the market square and the surrounding streets and alleyways (Neckargasse, Neue Straße, Kirchgasse, Marktgasse, Kornhausstraße, Hafengasse, Krumme Brücke).
The Mediterranean weekly market is framed by a dazzling art program that brings a vacation feeling to the end of the summer and instantly transports visitors to Provence or Umbria. Whether it's French comedians and street musicians or original Italian bands. At the colorful stands you will find a potpourri of specialties from Bella Italia.
Would you like to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the Umbrian-Provençal market as easily as possible? The Hotel Krone is just a few minutes' walk from the old town and thus from the market area. Cross the Neckar over the Eberhardsbrücke and you are already in the middle of the market. In the evening, you can return to your oasis of peace in the middle of the city center, relax in the Krone City-Spa and enjoy the magnificent city panorama on the roof terrace.
