The famous Tübingen Hesse Cabinet is dedicated solely to the literary roots and achievements of the world-famous poet and Nobel Prize winner Hermann Hesse (1877-1962). Embark on a short journey of discovery in the footsteps of the poet of youth.
The cabinet takes place in a part of the Heckenhauer antiquarian bookshop on the Holzmarkt in Tübingen. The special thing about it is that Hesse began his apprenticeship as a bookseller here over 100 years ago. In the university town of Tübingen, he finally found inner peace after relatively crisis-ridden youthful years and began to focus intensively on literature, becoming one of the most important poets in the world.
Additional information: The Hesse-Kabinett is a platform for Tübingen's contemporary literary scene. Readings with popular literary scholars and young up-and-coming authors take place there four times a year.
